Lavender: The Swiss Army Knife of Oils

Happy Monday to you! It's day 2 of getting to know the most popular essential oils. Ones that Oilers make sure to never run out of. Today is Lavender.
Lavenders history goes back some 2500 years. Who knew Lavender is a part of the mint family? Ancient Greeks called Lavender nardus and commonly called it Nard. Not to be confused with Spikenard, also called Nard, a costly oil which Mary kept in the alabaster case.
Lavender has long been used in cooking and added to water for bathing. The Greeks and Romans documented its many uses in healing and to treat many health problems. Naturally derived from the plant, used as a non-toxic remedy for many things.
Lavender is known as the Swiss Army Knife of oils. Oilers believe the uses and benefits surpass most other oils. Therefore, a must have in ones arsenal. Do a google search on Rene'-Maurice Gattefosse. His research led to some remarkable findings about lavender oil as well as the investigation into essential oils being used therapeutically.
Lavender is known for it's calming and relaxing components, thus is widely used for this reason. A drop on the bottoms of ones feet at night, on your temples and over your heart help aid in a more restful sleep. It's long been used in the cosmetic industry as perfumes but especially facial cremes and lotions.
FDA rules confine me from sharing all the health supporting uses of Lavender. I am neither a doctor or pharmacists but, if there's and essential oil that deserves its rightful place in your medicine cabinet, it is Lavender.
If you have children or grandkids that are active, it's a must have. If those same kids are putting you over the edge, put a drop or two on them and You and enjoy the rest of your day. If Fido is going ballistic because of passersbys or because of the fireworks during the holiday; put a drop on the tips of his ears and see the transformation.
As the graphic mentions Google "research on lavender essential oil"and be amazed of the benefits that Oilers have appreciated for years now.
